Tips and Tricks

Become a boba-barista at home! Once you have received your boxes, you might feel overwhelmed with everything included. Don't be, we have included a super easy, fail-proof recipe that will have you making delicious drinks in minutes!
We have created a list of tips and tricks so that you can feel more confident in creating your first drink.
Tip #1: Tapioca Pearls
Tapioca Pearls are made from starch, which means they are extremely fragile. If you ever handled raw tapioca pearls before, they will immediately break if you put enough weight on it. Raw tapioca pearls are also extremely sensitive to moisture, hence the vacuum seal required for each packaging. Ensure the raw tapioca pearls are used within 3 days of opening the seal, or have it resealed into a vacuum-tight container.
Tip #2: Matcha Powder
Matcha Powders are naturally thicker than other fruit powders. You might notice that if you leave your matcha bubble tea to sit for 10 minutes or longer, a small puddle of powder appears on the bottom. Not to worry, this is normal due to the thickness of the powder! Stir and mix before consuming again.
Tip #3: Tea Bags
Our tea bags are individually packaged by us. The reason for the bags is to provide ease if you do not have a tea strainer (if you do have one, don't be afraid to untie the tea bags and pour the tea leaves out). Even though the recipe states to steep the tea bag for 5 minutes, you can steep it even longer for a richer tea flavour.
